I suffer from depression. Sometimes when I'm depressed, I think about why me God. Do you even care about me. Are you even there. I have to remind myself that who am I to be worried about the petty problems that I am facing? Jesus died on a cross and was innocent of any sin. But here I am feeling sorry for myself and questioning God's existence. You are not alone in your moments of dis-belief. Stay close to God in worship and in his word. That is where I find His Love the strongest.
Even Abraham had his doubts. After all God did for him he still would deceive the city's that he entered by saying that Sarah was his sister. He didn't fully trust that God would protect them.
It is natural for you to have these doubts at times. Stay strong, pray, worship, and keep reading God's word.

Korey,

thanks for this it is well written and it's really nice to hear other's opinions, I really think this book club is an incredible way to share our faith and hear others opinions of Christ, scriptures, etc. so thank you. I am not apart of your reading through the bible in a year, but I have been working through some of Paul's letters and some old testament books (currently I am working through Judges). I wanted to share some of my favorite verses...

like you shared Korey from the book of Pslams: "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.." Psalm 1:1-3

Galatians 2:20-I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but CHRIST lives in me, the life I live in the body, I live for the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.

These are some of my favorite verses because they remind me of who I am in Christ, without Christ I don't exist!

Lastly I have a story to share,

I like to go rollar blading with my friends and family every now and then and at the rollar skating place we go to there is music being played constantly and when I got there last time, I headed out and Hero came on by Skillet, everyone was freaking out and I heard some people asking who this song was by because it was incredible...alll I could do was smile and answer their question...why do I post this...Korey SKillet is being used by Christ, you guys are not only making a difference in my life but in others as well...so thank you for this book club, your music, and most of all your Passion for Christ! God Bless

p.s. can't wait to read more of your thoughts and others on scriptures being read :)

Wow Korey! This truly speaks to me! God is the only way and life can be a constant struggle, but as long as we strive to be holy, we are doing what is right in the Lord's eyes. Awesome!
